Metropolitan police reported today that both the Washington Jewish Community Center and the new Adas Israel Synagogue were entered by intruders over the week-end.

A first floor window was forced at the community center, desk drawers were opened, papers scattered, doors smashed, and the place was ransacked. Edward Rosenblum, director of the center, said nothing was stolen and described the break in as the work of vandals.

Two doors were jimmied at the new $1,500,000 Adas Israel Synagogue which was dedicated this week-end with congratulations from President Truman. Rabbi David H. Panttz said that the intruders searched the synagogue but took nothing and desecrated no sacred objects. The synagogue is located about a mile from the community center.
