Social and Fraternal organizations of this city are nearing the close of their winter activities and are now making plans for the spring.

An intensive drive for new members is being conducted by the Young Peole’s League of B’Ni Irael Synagogue. All Jewsih young men and women between the ages of eithteen and thirty are eligible to Join.

The Sisterhood of adas Israel Congregation is planning a minstrel show and dance to be held March 4 at the Jewish Community Center. Mrs. Morris Gewirzis chairman and is being assisted by Mrs. L. Levinson, Mrs. Maurice Milestone, Mrs. Louis Rosenthal, Mrs. Moe Blumenthal and Mrs. Max Ostrow.

One of the outstanding American stage be presented by the original Yiddish Art Theatre Company at the Schubert Balesco Theatre for one performance on Sunday, February 18. This play is to be presented by special arrangement with the Washington Jewsih Community Center.

I. O. B. S. INSTALLS

New officers of Geoge Washington Lodge, I. O. B. S., and the Ladies Auxiliary of the lodge, were installed Wednesday night in the Jewish Communi8ty Center. They include Milton Leinson, presidnt: Jack Zellin, vice-president; Samuel Kessler. financial secretary: Max Kilivitsky, recording secretary; H. Ratner, tresurer; R. Rosenberg, inner guard, and A. Hoffman, N. Widre and H. Katzman, trustees. Officers of the Ladies Auxiliary are Mrs. Rubin Rosenberg, president; Mrs. S. Spigel and Mrs. D. Hayman, vice-president; Mrs. H. Bick, secretary; Mrs. H. Garfinkle, treasurer.

Services in honor of Dr. Abram Simon’s thirteenth anniversary as rabbi of the Washington Hebrew Congregation were held Friday evening at the Eighth Street Temple. More than 1,000 gathered at the Mayflower Hotel Wenesday evening to attend a testimonial in his honor.
