Means of combating racial and religious attacks will be one of the points discussed at the national Conference of States on Law Enforcement Problems of National Defense to be held at the Justice Department August 5 and 6, it was announced today.
This study will be included in the session which will discuss treatment of espionage, mob violence, violations of civil liberties ” and interferences generally with the effective operation of law enforcement and the national defense program.”
The treatment of aliens, their registration and position in the community and industries will be another point discussed. Speakers will include Attorney General Robert H. Jackson, Governor William H. Vanderbilt, John Lord 0’Brian and J. Edgar Hoover, director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
