Although a court decision has awarded the land in the Kuskus Taboun area, possession of which is disputed by Arabs, to Jewish interests, the Government has stopped execution of the award, it was disclosed in a letter by High Commissioner Wauchope published in El Islamia, the Mufti’s newspaper.
The High Commissioner’s office confirmed to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency the report that Sir Arthur had been influenced in his action by the Meshek Company, legal owners of the land, not to press turning over of the land.
