The Mosul-Haifa oil pipeline was formally opened here today by High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope in the presence of a distinguished assembly, including government officials, representatives of Iraq and of the Iraq Petroleum Company.
Following the formal opening of the pipeline, Sir Arthur visited Kiryath Chaim, the Haifa workers’ suburb named for the late Dr. Chaim Arlosoroff, slain Laborite leader.
Sir Arthur expressed gratification over the fact that Haifa Jewish workers were able to own their own homes and live in pleasant, healthy surroundings.
