The Palestine High Commissioner, in a conference with Israel Amikam, a Jewish representative, this morning, stated his belief that there are no difficulties attached to the transmission of telegrams in Hebrew characters in those places where there are Jewish officials.
The High Commissioner also expressed his view that the difficulties attached to such transmission in other places where there are no Jewish officials can be surmounted.
He promised to bring the matter to the attention of the Executive Council of the Palestine Government.
Mr. Amikam presented a petition regarding the use of Hebrew characters in telegrams to the twenty-first meeting of the Mandates Commission.
The Mandates Commission, in response to the petition submitted by Mr. Amikam and others, protesting against the refusal of Palestine Telegraphic offices to accept messages in Hebrew characters recommended that the Palestine government look into the matter from time to time.
