Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope, High Commissioner for Palestine, yesterday paid a visit lasting half an hour to Meir Dizengoff, the Mayor of this city. Dr. Dizengoff was seriously ill several weeks ago, but has now recovered.
The High Commissioner also visited an exhibition of the works of Hana Orloff, sculptress, and commented favorably on her bust of Chaim Nachman Bialik, Jewish national poet who died last July 4.
In the company of Anna Rovina, one of the leading members of the Habima theatre groups and others, the High Commissioner examined the site where a building is to be erected for the Hebrew troupe, which celebrated its fifteenth birthday recently.
“I hope to see an important cultural institution erected on this spot,” the High Commissioner said.
