High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope today received the “Gerer Rabbi” of Poland and Rabbis Moshe Blau and Dushinsky of the Agudath Israel, extreme orthodox group. He discussed with them the plight of the Jews through the world.
Sir Arthur congratulated the “Gerer Rabbi,” a world-famed Jewish sage, on his decision to take up residence in Palestine.
Later, Rabbi Blau, Rabbi Uziel and Moshe A. Amiel, chief rabbi of Tel Aviv, were received by Sir John Hathorn-Hall, chief Government secretary, who evinced sympathy with requests that the status of married immigrants who entered the country illegally be made legal.
