Praise for the role played by Palestinians in the British victories in Libya was voiced in a cable from General Sir Archibald Wavell, commander-in-chief of the British Mediterranean forces, made public today by Dr. Jose Mirelman, president of the New Zionist Organization of Argentina.

The cable, in reply to a query by Dr. Mirelman sent in connection with the current campaign here in behalf of the proposed Jewish army and air force, said: “Palestinians in Libya, mainly employed in the lines of communication, participated prominently in the occupation of Sidi Barrani, Sollum, Capuzzo, Bardia, Tobruk and performed fine work. Their morale was excellent despite frequent bombing. They are eager to overthrow the dictators.”
