Eliahu Elath, president of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, was today given an honorary doctorate by Wayne State University here at a special convocation. Dr. Elath, who already has honorary degrees from Brandeis University and the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, was Israel’s first Ambassador to the United States in 1948.
