Fritz Guenther, a former Hitlerist Storm Troop leader, and several Hitlerist Storm-troopers who have seceded from the Hitlerist Organisation, are circulating here a leaflet protesting against the way in which the Hitlerist leaders repudiated the men who took part in the excesses, and contended that the Hitlerist organisation knew nothing of the attack on the Jews, and disclaimed responsibility for them.
We refuse to follow any longer leaders like Goebbels or Helldorf, who have betrayed and sold us, the signatories say. We Storm-troop functionaries received orders three days before the Jewish New Year that we should bring our men, armed, to the Kurfuerstendamm on the evening of the Jewish New Year, and Count Helldorff in person directed us to attack the Reimann Cafe.
Comrades, the leaflet concludes, you know that we acted according to orders, and then we were repudiated and abandoned to our fate.
