The opera “Chalutzim” (The Pioneers) by Jacob Weinberg, New York composer, was produced for the first time in Germany Saturday night by the Jewish Culture League before an audience of 3,000 in the Prinzregentenstrasse Synagogue under the baton of Chemia Winawer, leader of the famous Winawer Choir. The opera received an ovation. Herr Winawer is leaving Germany next month to settle permanently in the United States.
