Dr. Chaim Weizmann, head of the Zionist German relief drive, and Dr. Arthur Ruppin, agricultural expert and member of the Jewish Agency executive, will present the Zionist program for settlement of German Jews in Palestine at the conference called in London for October 29 to consider refugee aid plans, according to Louis Lipsky, American member of the World Zionist executive and chairman of the American Palestine Campaign.
The World Zionist Organization program for the coming year was made public by Mr. Lipsky. Its primary aim will be acceleration of German Jewish settlement in Palestine. “Real and lasting salvation for German Jewry is possible only by means of a great effort to settle large numbers of German Jews in Palestine, whither they will bring their possessions, their culture and their ability in order to enrich the land and the nation,” the program states.
Other essentials of the program include “cooperation with the Mandatory power, the safeguarding of Jewish rights and the establishing of friendship and understanding with the Arabs.” The statement points out that Palestine conditions are such as to make it ready to receive all categories of Jews. It promises that “the executive will strengthen the chalutz movement and facilitate its entry into the land. Further political work with Great Britain and the League of Nations, strengthening of the national funds and a “determined, vigorous and united” Zionist movement are other announced objectives.
