Israel’s topmost political, cultural and scientific personalities participated here last night in a dual celebration, marking the 20th anniversary of the Weizmann Institute of Science and the 70th birthday of Meyer W. Weisgal, chairman of the Institute’s executive board.
Congratulatory messages were received from many world leaders, including one from President Johnson. Among the speakers were Prime Minister Levi Eshkol; Moshe Charett, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive, formerly Israel’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister; and Deputy Premier Abba Eban. The latter is also president of the Weizmann Institute.
