A three-judge court found Herut leader Ezer Weizman not guilty today of causing the death of a pedestrian as a result of reckless driving. However, the court fined him $70 for exceeding the speed limit by five miles per hour. A car driven by Gen. Weizman, former Israel Air Force commander, struck and killed 80-year-old Dr. Benjamin Gelert in a suburban street on the evening of March 21, 1971. The court found Weizman was not driving carelessly and that under the circumstances he could not have prevented the accident.
