Speaking at a luncheon in his honor at the Hotel Commodore today, tendered by the Jewish National Workers Alliance, Dr. Chaim Weizmann revealed that he is returning to England in three weeks.
Discussing the political situation in Palestine, Dr. Weizmann expressed the belief that the gates of Palestine will not be closed in March of 1944, as provided for under the White Paper of 1939. He praised the Jewish workers for their contributions to the upbuilding of the Jewish settlement in Palestine and voiced the opinion that the intellectual steadfastness of Palestine’s Jews will enable them to build up the country despite obstacles and to pave the way for larger immigration in the future.
