Late King Feisal of Iraq and Colonel Lawrence of Arabia approved Zionist plans and signed a treaty for harmonious relationships between an Arab state and Palestine, it is stated by Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, in the London Times.
He says that a treaty signed in 1919 with Dr. Weizmann as representative of the World Zionist Organization provided for definition of boundaries between the Arab state and Palestine, encouragement of Jewish immigration and assistance for the Arab state by Zionist experts.
It also provided, Dr. Weizmann says, for mutual action before the Peace Conference and arbitration of disputes by the British Government. He points out that Feisal’s address to the Supreme Council of the peace Conference especially referred to Palestine as an exception to the demand for independence of Arab areas. He recalls a letter that King Feisal wrote expressing sympathy with the Zionist movement.
