A note of confidence in a brighter future for Palestine, where industries are at work, unemployment has disappeared and new immigration expected, was sounded in a message to American Jews sent by Dr. Chaim Weizmann through the Jewish Telegraphic Agency on his arrival in Jerusalem yesterday.
“I wish more of my American friends could see the homeland as I find it on my present pilgrimage,” Dr. Weizmann declared in his message. “There is a feeling of high confidence based on a success unprecedented here in the plantations. Most industries are working overtime, unemployment has disappeared and a new immigration, with a quota substantially greater than the last, is anticipated.
“With my Zionist colleagues, I am meeting Mr. Felix M. Warburg and his associates here and am looking forward to their full cooperation for the upbuilding of Palestine after the Zionist Congress ratifies the constitution of the Jewish Agency.
“In the meantime nothing must arrest the Zionist growth. I appeal to all leaders and contributors of the United Palestine Appeal to make this Pesach more joyous for Palestine, for themselves and myself by generously meeting the needs of the current work.”
