The first welfare fund campaign in this community ended with complete success, it was revealed today by Louis Nobil, president of the Jewish Welfare Fund Campaign of this city.
Surpassing the fondest expectations of the local leaders, the campaign marked the first attempt to unify all the community’s forces in behalf of a single drive. The $3,250,000 United Jewish Appeal formed a nucleus of common interest which enabled the community to rally all elements for the most successful fund-raising efforts the city has known.
In addition to Mr. Nobil, the officers of the Welfare Fund are Richard Polsky, vice-president; Lincoln Gries, treasurer, and Malvyn Wachner, secretary. Mr. Nobil was general chairman of the campaign committees. Ben W. Holub, Richard Polsky, Henry M. Rose, Morris Sacks and Alex Schulman were co-chairmen.
