Welfare Fed’n Asks Agencies As Affiliates

The budget committee of the Jewish Welfare Federation recommended to the board of the Federation at a meeting, that local, national and international agencies should be included in the 1934 Allied Jewish Campaign.

“We recommend that the 1934 Allied Jewish campaign include the following local agencies,” said Mrs. Joseph H. Ehrlich, chairman of the Budget Committee: “The Jewish Unemployment Emergency Council of the Jewish Social Service Bureau, Fresh Air Society, Hebrew Free Loan Association, House of Shelter, Jewish Community Center, Jewish Old Folks’ Home, Hospitalization Fund of the North End Clinic, and the United Hebrew Schools.

“In all its deliberations, the Budget Committee has kept most clearly in mind the fact that, last year, because of the emergency that faced us at home, the national and international agencies which Federation always supported in the past released us from our commitments to them. This was a decisive factor in our decisions as to the non-local agencies which should be included in our 1934 objective.

“As a result, we are recommending to the board of the Jewish Welfare Federation the following national and international agencies which we feel should be included in our forthcoming campaign:

American Jewish Committee.

Bureau of Jewish Social Research.

Cleveland Jewish Orphan Home.

Ex-Patients’ Tubercular Home, Denver.

Graduate School for Jewish Social Work.

Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.

Hebrew University.

Hillel Foundation of B’nai B’rith.

Jewish Welfare Board.

Leo N. Levi Memorial Hospital, Hot Springs, Ark:

Mizrachi.

Montefiore Home, Cleveland.

National Conference of Jewish Social Work.

National Conference of Jewish Welfare Federations.

National Desertion Bureau.

National Jewish Hospital, Denver.

United Jewish Appeal (American Palestine Campaign, and Joint Distribution Committee).”

The Allied Jewish Campaign, sponsored by the Jewish Welfare Federation, will be conducted this year from May 27 to June 7.
