More than 4,000 Arab farmers from the West Bank area were given a demonstration of modern farming methods and machinery organized for their benefit by the military government and the Israel Ministry of Agriculture.
The demonstration, held at the village of Kabatiya in the Samaria district, was assisted by former officials of the Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture who participated along with Israeli agricultural experts. The farmers inspected models of agricultural equipment and were instructed in the use of insecticide and fertilizers. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, they were most impressed by the new methods of ploughing and olive cultivation. The insecticides were reportedly sold out on the spot.
