The West Berlin Senate has decided to grant 20,000 deutschemarks ($4,694) from its budget to the Hebrew University. This decision was taken at a meeting of the Senate this week to help build up the university’s library.
The Senate gave no explanation for its decision, but the allocation is regarded as a contribution to intellectual restitution and for improvement of the cultural relations between West Berlin and Jerusalem.
