A West German judge visited a survivor of the Treblinka death camp living here to take testimony in the war crimes trial of the former camp captain, Franz Stengel, Judge Haag Schedersky of Dusseldorf made the trip in order to speak to a former Polish Jewish inmate of the camp who was too ill to come to Germany. The inmate, who requested anonymity, escaped from Treblinka in 1943 after losing his family there.
