The fourth convention of the West German Social Democratic Party, following an address by its chairman, Dr. Kurt Schumacher, adopted a resolution calling for a fight on prejudice and neo-militarist and neo-Fascist movements.

The resolution further states that the party remembers Germany is “obliged to restore the injustices to Jewry.” The convention urged full restitution and indemnification to the Jews who had suffered at the hands of the Nazis and declared its “readiness to continus to fight discrimination against Jews and political persecutees.”

The meeting agreed that “German homegeneity cannot be restored before a reconciliation and peace are regained with Jewry.” The party expressed its opposition to the recent “West German Federal Government’s declaration regarding restitution as ‘hardly satisfactory.'”
