An immediately effective order to withdraw a decree in the district of Westphalia prohibiting employment of Jewish butcher workers and apprentices has been issued in Muenster by the district administrator of the Labor Front.
The order cancels article 15 of the Westphalia decree, issued last February 20, which stated that all employes in the butcher trade in that district must be members of trade unions belonging to the German Labor Front, which does not accept Jews.
Cancellation of this ruling permits to return to work as journeyman butchers and apprentices.
The first cattle market without Jewish workers in Frankfort-on-Main, opened with elaborate ceremony, was hailed by the press.
The Bauern Zeitung of Frankfort-on-Main wrote that formerly eighty per cent of the cattle dealers in that city were Jews, and declared that the experiment of organizing a “cattle market free of Jews” has proved a tremendous success.
