Rumours are going about to the effect that Mr. Lewis French, the Director Palestine Development, is contemplating handing in his resignation, but the rumours have probably nothing more behind them than the fact that Mr. French is relinquishing to Mr. Abramson, the Commissioner for Lands, the Chairmanship of the Land Tax Committee, because of pressure of work in his own Development Department.

The Colonial Office in London, on enquiry by the J.T.A., is unable to confirm the rumour of Mr. French’s possible resigmation.

The Zionist Executive expresses itself unaware of the rumours.
