In planning the summit conference to combat inflation, the White House has cancelled a preliminary meeting for Sept. 17 and 18 because those dates conflicted with the observance of Rosh Hashana, a White House spokesman said today. The new dates for the preliminary session will be announced soon. The summit itself was moved up to Sept. 27 because the White House noted Yeas Kippur is observed the day before.
