Posthumous denazification proceedings have opened before the Central Denazification Court of Bavaria here in the case of Hans Kerrl, one-time Nazi Minister for Churches, who died in Berlin in 1941. In his official capacity Kerrl shared responsibility for persecution of religious minorities, including Jews.
Several years ago Kerrl, already dead, was listed as a Nazi “activist” and his widow was notified that 80 percent of his property would be confiscated by the state. She appealed the decision and the case has finally reached the court here.
