Nazi-hunter Simon Wiesenthal says that Nazi war criminal Josef Mengele, the doctor who performed experiments on inmates at Auschwitz, is now on the verge of either suicide or surrender to the West German authorities. Wiesenthal told Israel Television last night he had offered a $50,000 award for information about Mengele’s where about and had received exact details of where he is now.
He said the Nazi war criminal, sought since the end of World War II, had recently last his Paraguayan citizenship. “He is now running from country to country,” Rosenthal said. He said Mengele was suffering from a circulatory disease, was getting tired of being on the run and was “about ready to give himself up or commit suicide.”
