To reach an analysis of the voluntary forces that make for Jewish community life in this country, a special meeting of the Metropolitan Association of Jewish Center. Workers will be held next Friday morning at the Young Women’s Hebrew Association, 31 W. 110th Street.
Israel S. Chipkin, educational director of the Jewish Edcation Association, will speak on “Religion and Education as Effectuating Forces in Jewish Communal Life.”
Preceding the regular meeting there will be a series of round table discussions led by Y.M.H.A. and Jewish Center executives. Herman Jacobs will discuss “Planning the Club Program.” Leslie Flaksman of the Bronx House will discuss “Planning the Club Programs of Special Activity Groups.” Moses W. Beckleman of the 92nd Street Y.M.H.A. will offer a discourse on “House Organs and Publicity.”
The above is a reproduction of the first page of the “Welt Dienst’ issued in several languages by the new Nazi anti-Jewish propaganda service. The bulletin is intended for private distribution in the regular mails to “enlighten” “poorly orientated Aryans” to the doings of the Jewish underworld.”
In this issue everybody who is somebody is misrepresented as being Jewish. Thus, Ramsay MacDonald, Karl Liebknecht, Ebert, Rosa Luxemburg, Philip Scheideman, Clemenceau, Clemenceau, Trotzky, Lenin, Vandervelde etc., are all linked in a “Bolshevist conspiracy”, together with the Odd Fellows!
Under the heading “Limelight on the Jewish Underworld,” the Jew, Luis Neumann of Barcelona, is accused of heading a Masonic conspiracy against Germany in France. A review of the progress of the Fascist movement in the various countries follows, and boasts are made of “achievements” everywhere, Canada being credited with a Fascist Party 25,000 strong, and, according to the sheet, even Japan possesses a Fascist Party all of its own, under the leadership of one Seigo Nakano.
Regret is expressed over the fact that in some countries Fascism does not devote itself to the Jewish question. Italy and England are listed as the most notorious delinquents. Of course, what could be expected of the British Fascists, one of whose leaders, Sir John (sic) Mosley, is married to a Jewess? The fond hope is expressed, however, that the still insignificant Imperial Fascist Party will do better work in England, insofar as the Jews are concerned.
The issue closes with a story of how Hungarian Jews “evade military service, winding up with the remark: “Comments are unnecessary!”
