The need for a real Jewish center, which would serve as a gathering place for Jewish men, women and children of all groups and elements, is occupying the serious attention of leaders of the local Jewish community and definite steps to attain such an institution are about to be taken.
This is being fostered by Louis H. Blumenthal, the executive director of the Young Men’s and Young Women’s Hebrew Association. He was formerly director of the B’nai B’rith Center of Portland.
A conference of leaders of local Jewry will be called shortly to exert the necessary organized effort to accomplish the center plans.
