Stimulation of religious activity in the smaller Jewish communities on the North American Continent will be the purpose of a campaign launched by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, it was learned Friday.
Rabbi Aaron Einhorn, field secretary of the union, in whose hands this work has been placed, will leave local headquarters at Yeshiva College tomorrow (Monday) to set out on a tour which will carry him to the most isolated localities where Jews reside.
As a starter, several weeks of his itinerary will be devoted to visits among the Southeastern States. The union hopes to avert the deterioration of the Jewish tradition, regarded as an immediate danger in some communities.
Rabbi Einhorn’s mission has the endorsement of the vast majority of Jewish communal leaders, the union reports.
