The Lithuanian Government has granted formal recognition to the Wilno Jewish Community, it was announced here today.
Rector Birziska of Wilno University announced that the university’s senate had agreed in principle to the creation of a chair of Yiddish, provided the necessary funds, are furnished. Noah Prilucki, former Warsaw Jewish leader and writer is expected to be appointed lecturer in Yiddish.
