Prime Minister Harold Wilson told the House of Commons today that Britain did not plan to seek a meeting of the four permanent members of the United Nations Security Council to discuss measures for implementing the Security Council’s Nov. 22, 1967 resolution on the Middle East. (Preliminary bi-lateral UN talks among the U.S., Britain, France and Russia aimed at reaching common ground in pursuit of a Mideast settlement have reportedly made virtually no headway.)
