Windows of Jewish owned shops in Manchester have been defaced with the swastika, the Manchester Jewish Gazette reported yesterday.
Defacement of the windows has occurred over a period of two weeks and almost a dozen Jewish-owned shops have been involved, the weekly reported. The last outbreak of anti-Jewish incidents in Manchester occurred in 1947 during the Palestine disturbances.
While the Jewish publication suggested that the incidents should not be blown up out of proportion, it added that despite prompt investigation by police, the vandals still had not been found.
