The 20 children who won a trip to Israel for their entries in the “Children of the World Paint Jerusalem” contest will be arriving here between Sept. 1-5. Among the winners expected to arrive are children from the United States, Mexico, Europe and one from Korea.
They will be staying at the youth resort center in the Jerusalem forest, their base for a week of festivities, tours and meetings, including the prize award ceremony at the Israel Museum and a meeting with Premier Menachem Begin.
More than 150,000 from all over the world took part in the contest. The 450 drawings that reached the finals are presently exhibited at the Israel Museum and will go on a world wide tour next month, starting in New York. The Israel Film Service is preparing a film on the competition.
