The City Council here today emphasized its determination to bar discrimination against Jews in the field of sports.
The Council ruled that a local ski club, which applied for the use of a parcel of city property, must prove that the organization does not discriminate against Jews prior to receiving permission to build a projected ski jump. The application met with strong opposition on the part of many city councillors in view of the alleged anti-Jewish bias displayed by the club.
