Wise Bids Histadruth Maintain Order Among Palestine Jewry

“While crossing the ocean I learned to my unutterable joy that Abraham Stavsky was acquitted,” Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, who arrived here today, informed the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. “Now I learn to my sorrow from the Jewish Telegraphic Agency Bulletin that the acquittal, instead of bringing peace or an armistice between the warring factions in Palestine, has brought a renewal of strife.

“Hitlerism has shaken Jewish life to its very foundations. I know what is happening in other countries and know the nascent Hitlerite movement in my own country and find that instead of battling unitedly against the menace of Hitlerism, Jewish news becomes a recital of ruffianly conduct in Eretz Israel.

“Because the Histadruth is virtually the Jewish government of Palestine we have the right to ask that it demand of its followers moderation and conciliation. The Jewish people asks the Histadruth to observe the dignity of a responsible government. The Jewish people also asks the Zionist Revision-
