Plans for erection of a new Free Synagogue costing $500,000 were presented to Rabbi Stephen S. Wise today at special services celebrating his sixty-sixth birthday and his forty-fifth anniversary as a religious leader.
Announcement of the plans was made at the services, held at Carnegie Hall, by President Joseph M. Levine of the Free Synagogue. The new building will be built on the site adjoining the present building at 40 West 68th Street and will seat 1,250 persons.
