To mark the Eleventh Anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising on April 30, the World Jewish Congress has issued a call to its affiliated organizations and Jewish communities in 65 nations to launch a major project of enduring educational or cultural values that will perpetuate the traditions of Judaism.

In sounding the call to action, Dr. L. Schwarzbart, director of the WJC organization department, stressed that suitable memorial projects, named for the fighters of the Warsaw Ghetto, might include: “A school or institution of Jewish learning; a Jewish traveling library, which could reach isolated small Jewish communities; a fund for annual fellowships for young people; an annual award for the best book or pamphlet on a Jewish theme; or an institute of Jewish history.”
