According to a cable received yesterday by Felix M. Warburg, Chairman of the American Advisory Committee of the Hebrew University in Palestine, The Wolffsohn Memorial Library, completed this year, will be formally dedicated in April, which marks the fifth anniversary of the University. In connection with the celebration, the University will place on exhibit the Schwadron collection of autographs and photographs of Jewish notables, the largest in the world. Rare Haggodoth, mediaeval manuscripts containing the story of Passover, will also be shown.
The Library has issued a short history of its founding, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the death of Dr. Joseph Chasonowitch, who gave to the Library its first collection of 32,000 volumes. The Library, which now contains over 213,000 volumes including the only medical libraries in the Near East, issues over 4,000 books each month to its borrowers, who include Christians, Moslems and Jews.
