Mrs. Sidney C. Borg, chairman of the women’s division of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies, presented the new director of the division, Mrs. Florence Erstein, to the members of the board, at a luncheon at her home in Irvington-on-Hudson yesterday.
Those present included Mrs. Julius Ochs Adler, Mrs. Henry M. Block, Mrs. Alfred A. Cook, Mrs. Erstein, Mrs. Allie S. Freed, Mrs. David E. Goldfarb, Mrs. Edgar A. Hellman, Mrs. Henry S. Hendricks, Mrs. Walter A. Hirsch, Mrs. Isaac Kubie, Mrs. Sam A. Lewisohn, Mrs. Alexander J. Marcuse, Mrs. Henry Siegbert and Mrs. Felix M. Warburg.
Mrs. Erstein has been identified with the activities of the women’s division of Federation and other communal agencies over a long period of years. At one time she was chairman of the division’s lecture course and a few years ago she was active in the direction of a pageant in which the wards of Federation’s ninety-one institutions participated.
