It’s the women’s task in the kibbutzim to care for the home. That’s the opinion of the adult population of Israel’s kibbutzim as revealed in a survey held in connections with Kibbutz Artzi convention on “Women’s Place in the Kibbutz.” The conclave is being held at Nir David this weekend.
The survey further revealed that 96 percent of the women approved of the use of cosmetics and makeup on the kibbutz; 57 percent wanted to raise four children and 77 percent indicated that women’s penetration of men’s jobs was necessary in the early pioneer days but has no place on a modern kibbutz.
