One hundred prominent women active in social, philanthropic and communal life of the city will greet Mrs. Felix M. Warburg, who returned from Palestine yesterday, at an “informal welcome home” to be held at the Hotel Ambassador Monday afternoon. The reception is being arranged under the auspices of the women’s division of the Greater New York campaign of the United Jewish Appeal. Mrs. Abram I. Elkus will be hostess at the reception.
Mrs. Warburg, who has spent several weeks in Palestine, will report on what is being done to rehabilitate the German Jews in that land. Rabbi Jonah B. Wise, recently back from a trip to Germany, will tell of his experiences there. There will also be addresses by Mrs. Roger W. Strauss, I. Edwin Goldwasser, and Mrs. Richard Percy Limburg, chairman of the women’s division.
The women’s division has accepted a quota of $200,000 as its share of the $1,250,000 which New York Jewry is expecting to raise for the aid of Jews of Germany and other lands and for the settlement of Jews in Palestine.
