Women’s Auxiliaries in New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, Philadelphia and other large eastern cities are completing plans to send representatives to the Silver Anniversary Celebration of the National Home for Jewish Children to be held here July 31st to August 2nd, according to an announcement by David E. Harlem, Chairman of the Celebration.
More than five hundred invitations to the celebration have been sent to outstanding friends of the Home including national trustees, the national board of directors, and to all those who have led the movement in the interests of the children during the past twenty-five years. The invitations were sent by Mrs.J.N. Lorber, founder and President of the Home.
Following an afternoon of open house at the Home, a Silver Jubilee Banquet will be held at the Cosmopolitan Hotel Sunday evening. Aaron Sapiro of New York and Justice Mitchell May of the New York Supreme Court will be among the speakers.
Since its establishment twenty-five years ago, the Home has cared for more than two thousand children of the victims of tuberculosis. During the Jubilee Celebration plans will be made to meet the situation brought on by the present economic crisis. The Home is being taxed to capacity while its income has suffered drastic reductions.
