The Women’s Mizrachi Organization of America closed its 15th anniversary convention today, reelecting Mrs. Abraham Shapiro, Brooklyn, as president and adopting a $175,000 budget, including $150,000 for its expanded projects in Palestine. Other officers elected include Mrs. Samuel Goldstein, Mrs. Jesse Ginsberg, Mrs. Max Leizerowitz, Mrs. Louis Wald, Mrs. R.W. Stander, all New York, and Mrs. M.A. Singer, Cleveland, vice-presidents; Mrs. Simcha Rabinowitz, New York, secretary, and Mrs. B.H. Schnur, New York, treasurer.
Resolutions were adopted hailing the Arab-Jewish amity in the struggle “against a common enemy,” calling upon American Jews for their greatest efforts in behalf of suffering brethren abroad and expressing indignation over expulsion of Jews from Germany to France. Mrs. Nathan B. Fisher, associate treasurer, reported that the $175,000 budget would set a new record. She said $100,000 had been raised since the 1939 convention.
