The president of the National Press Club today accepted on behalf of the club, as a “symbol of Israel-American friendship” a woodcut of the prophet Jeremiah by Jacob Steinhardt, an Israeli artist. The woodcut was presented to the club by B.A. Barkai, an Israeli journalist, and Milton Friedman. Washington correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. President T. Felt said he wished to gratefully acknowledge the gift which he considered symbolic of the close ties between Israel and the United States. I.S. Turover, national vice-president of the Zionist Organization of America, was present at the presentation.
