Postponement, until September 14th, of the drive for a $125,000 Home to house the aged and orphaned in this city, which was launched Sunday, August 10th, was announced today by the general committee in charge of the campaign. The shift in dates came after a conference between George Greenspun of New York, who is directing activities and the committee. The canvass of the city by 500 volunteers for the benefit of the drive has been held up. Instead the entire efforts of the workers will be concentrated during the week between September 14th and 21st.
An announcement from the head-quarters of the drive stated that the intervening month will be devoted to preliminary organization and planning for the drive. The present home has been condemned as a fire trap and is proving inadequate to care for the increasing number of men, women and children clamouring for admission.
