Over 500 volunteers began a systematic canvass of the city today in the campaign to secure $125,000 for a new Jewish Home for Aged and Orphans. The drive for funds is being directed by George Greenspun of New York.
The erection of two new modern buildings to house the aged and orphaned in the city will be begun immediately at the conclusion of the campaign. One structure to quarter the aged will contain a synagogue, library, kitchen and sleeping quarters. The other building, in which the youngsters will dwell, will have a completely equipped gymnasium, swimming pool, lecture hall, and other facilities. The drive is expected to last five weeks.
