A nation-wide three-hour work stoppage has been called for Thursday as part of a demonstration to demand the reopening of the doors of Palestine to Jewish immigration.
In a proclamation issued today, the Jewish National Council urged that mass meetings be held throughout the country between the hours of three and six in the afternoon. It said that the aim of the demonstration was to give a “clear and unequivocal” reply to the recent attempts to “separate the Yishuv from world Jewry,” and to secure a solution of the Palestine problem based on “an agreement between the Yishuv and the Palestine Arabs.”
